SKEGSS SELLS OUT LINCOLN HALL
BY ADI COHEN
Australian rockers, Skegss, knows how to throw a party and that couldn't have been more apparent than at their Sunday night tour stop in Chicago. They had the sold out crowd at Lincoln Hall jumping from the second they stepped out on stage. The show kicked off with the song “Valhalla” which had the crowd scream-singing along from the start. Things never ended up slowing down throughout the rest of the show
You could tell there was a genuine excitement to be playing to the crowd. The band's bass player sweat through his shirt after the first two songs, which you almost can't fault him for given the way he was running across the stage and constantly engaging with the crowd. The party vibes never let up as the show ran on. A mosh pit formed and people began crowd surfing as the night went on.
Not only that, but lead singer Ben Reed had a smile on his face almost the whole night looking out over the crowd. That smile got noticeably larger when halfway through the set someone brought a whiskey up to the stage for him after he had mentioned wanting one.
The party atmosphere never let up as the moshing and crowd-surfing intensified during the last half of the show. If you are looking for an excuse to mosh your night away, a Skegss show is the place to be. Be sure to grab tickets to remaining shows on their US tour.
