conan gray shines through brisbane
BY MACKENZIE TRELOAR
On Saturday the 13th of July, Brisbane was thrilled to welcome back the one and only, Conan Gray! This is his second time gracing the stage at The Fortitude Music Hall and he did NOT disappoint! Conan held a captive trance over the crowd with one of the best performances I have ever seen, and had multiple amazing crowd interactions. Playing hit after hit, Conan made sure to play songs from the newest album like the crowd favourites Bourgeoisieses and Killing Me, but also played beloved songs from 2020 being Heather and Maniac. During the set Conan had the whole crowd in tears during a little speech of his life before leading into the tear jerking song, The Story, and I could not see a single dry eye in the crowd. During his performance Conan wore an Australian flag signed by fans with cute little messages. Before Conan performed a breathtaking set, the amazing Kat Edwards! Kat definitely warmed the crowd up with a beautiful performance of her emotional songs of the queer experience and even surprised the crowd with a cover of Casual by Chappell Roan, and boy oh boy the crowd LOVED it. Kat is definitely an artist that will be added to my artist to watch list and her songs will be added into several playlists! The outfits by fans at the show felt so special!! So many handmade outfits and cute little matching outfits with each other and some absolutely hilarious outfits!! This show felt so special on so many levels and I feel so honored to be surrounded by so many adoring fans all getting to experience the one and only Conan Gray as he absolutely SHINES on stage!
