Cavetown Rocks the Fortitude Music Hall
BY MACKENZIE TRELOAR
On Saturday the 24th of February Cavetown graced the music hall stage and put on an extraordinary show for the Brisbane queer community with an hour and a half set filling the room with so much joy and love and providing such a strong connection between themself and the cheerful crowd.
Before the show began the kind fans were telling me how excited they all were to finally experience Cavetown’s music and how much their songs have helped them become themselves ! The group at the front of the barricade even showed off the massive 6 person loomband they made for the show! As soon as Cavetown graced the stage the energy of the room increased by a million percent, everyone dancing and singing and so much queer joy!
Cavetown sung all their hits and even danced around the stage with a transgender pride flag and an Australian flag!! Cavetown even received a humongous amount of frog plushies from the generous fans and even danced around with some! I have been a huge fan of Cavetown for many many years and it was extraordinary to share this night amongst a crowd of queer people that I have several shared experiences with. It was so special to me to get to photograph such a fun and vibrant show.
