Get Excited! All Things Go is This Weekend and There is So Much To See!
BY LIZ BAUMMER
The All Things Go lineups are always the talk of the music industry. All Things Go is not the first time Out Jamz is covering some of the artists on the lineup. With All Things Go just days away, it is time to break down a few of the artists Out Jamz staff have covered or wrote about before, and why they recommend seeing them this weekend at All Things Go. Plus read below for a few artists Out Jamz will be covering for the first time and why I am prepared to be blown away by their performances.
Here are just a few of the artists on the lineup that staff at Out Jamz have covered live, written about, or seen live!
Bleachers
“What makes their shows special is how charismatic the entire band is, they have such infectious energy.” – Anna Porcella

Anna captures the energy of a Bleachers show in a quote from her coverage “Following perhaps the only calm moment in the set - an acoustic interlude - Antonoff stated the band does not do encores, instead choosing to leave all they have on stage, inviting the audience to join them in ‘blowing the roof off this place!’”. This moment sums up a Bleachers show so well, and I am sure they will take the roof off of Merriweather.
Reneé Rapp
“Although I haven’t seen Renee live yet, I’ve seen her twice on the big screen in Mean Girls. Her performance and energy are so eye-catching and uplifting, especially for fans of all ages.” -Katherine Chung

I am also beyond excited to be seeing Reneé Rapp for the first time. As a former theatre kid, I have been following her before she achieved pop stardom, and it has been a dream of mine for the last 6+ years to one day see her live. This weekend will be a dream come true for sure.
Maisie Peters
“Ironically, Maisie Peters was the first show I ever captured for Out Jamz. I love her the magic she works into her lyrics and the way she pares that with catchy melodies. Her album, The Good Witch (Deluxe) is one of my top five albums of all time. I am excited to yet again capture her on stage.”

Holly Humberstone
“I saw Holly at the 9:30 Club this year and it was breathtaking. She sounds 10x better live with the band.” – Katherine Chung

And may I just say, as someone who has not seen Holly in person, I cannot wait because I cannot fathom that she can sound any better live than she does in her recorded music. I am sure her sounding 10x better live is going to blow my mind!
Bonus: Medium Build
“Medium Build does not hold back when it comes to live performances, Nick Carpenter puts his heart and soul with every lyric in a charming and unique way. From inviting the crowd to scream at the top of their lungs to “Rage” to appreciating mundane moments of friendship in “Friend for Life” a Medium Build show can have you rocking out one moment and slowing down to share a tender acoustic set reminiscing about those closest to you.” – Nikki Wong
While Nikki hasn’t covered them or written about Medium Build before for Out Jamz, she has seen him two times and recommends you check out this live performance if you want to get an idea of what to expect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpEmoUirZQc
And there are so many more artists, that I am so excited for at All Things Go. First and foremost, I feel like the most obvious answer is Chappell Roan. I am still in disbelief that I will have the privilege of covering Chappell Roan during her historic rise to fame. The thought of getting to watch 22,000 people do the Hot To Go dance makes me emotional just thinking about it, and there is a very high likelihood there will be a few stray tears on festival day. While we may have technically moved into fall, I think closing out the season of warmer weather with some of the songs of the summer will be a great experience.
I’m also incredibly excited for Janelle Monáe. If you have seen any content from their recent tour, you will know that the production design of the entire show is incredible. Both the costumes and the set are some of the most gorgeous I have seen, and I am really looking forward to seeing how that is adapted for their festival set. Plus, Monáe is an incredible performer so everyone at All Things Go is in for a treat.
I am also so so so excited to see Laufey play with the Kennedy Center Orchestra. I am a massive fan of orchestral performances. Laufey’s music is such a perfect pairing for an orchestra. As this is not something that happens often, I feel this is such a special opportunity to experience Laufey’s music in a whole new way.
