FRAWLEY’S NEWEST SINGLE “CRYING MY EYES OUT”
BY LIAM GILLIN (He/Him)
Moving on from an ex is never easy especially if that ex moved on a little bit quicker than you intended. Up and coming pop singer Frawley lays it all out in her newest single “Crying My Eyes Out.” Frawley has accumulated a few viral songs in the past such as her songs “No One Can Fix Me” and “If I Don’t Laugh, I’ll Cry.” Both singles brought her over 75,000,000 streams online and led to her collaborations with artists such as Icona Pop and Metro Boomin. According to a viral post on TikTok, Frawley describes her newest single “Crying My Eyes Out” as “a song that could even make a f*ckboy cry.” The song tells the story of witnessing your ex boyfriend dancing and creating new memories with another woman right in front of your eyes. The ballad breaks down the realization when you think you have moved on from an ex partner but once you witness them find someone brand new in a matter of time, the flood of anger and sadness becomes overwhelming.
The acoustic melody, soft keys, and whisper-soft to booming vocals on this song embody an early 2010s sound. Frawley’s lyricism is incredibly visual and descriptive on “Crying My Eyes Out.” “It turns out that the best night of her life is the worst of mine,” is a lyric that appears simple in hindsight but the impact of it hits home for listeners. Frawley’s “Crying My Eyes Out” is definitely a contributor to be the heartbreak anthem of the summer.
