Highly acclaimed singer songwriter Liana Flores talked about her inspirations on her music, future projects and creative inspirations in a press conference with 1824. The artist who is known for her blend of jazz and pop shared her experience as an artist who is finding her way through the industry.

“Nature is definitely the most inspiring thing to me, there is nothing like a good nature walk.” The singer says when talking about her songwriting that paints vivid dream-like scenes and the memories that inspire them, reflecting on the beauty of the natural world that inspires her musical process.

Liana Flores opened up about her fascination with blending music genres, particularly jazz and pop. As a jazz music lover, she finds fascination for timeless melodies that drive inspiration for her. But other than that, nature is a big inspiration for her. Her Spotify profile describes her as a “Was bestowed human form by a kind witch in exchange for these songs” , when asked about this she said that she thinks this imaginary encapsulates her music and life, emphasising how she finds trees to be generous since they give fruit to us all the time.

The music video for her latest song, Night Visions has a sense of nostalgia that is fusioned with the 70s folk music style. The singer mentioned that the theme for this song was how consuming love can be, and how easily changing it might seem.

Opening up for classical and jazz artist Laufey, has been an experience for the singer. Her headlining US and UK tour is embarking this summer, and although there are exciting feelings for it, the singer said, “I am terrified of performing, I have to do a lot of shows to learn to love it and leave my stage fright.” Showcasing her true self and vulnerability and determination to overcome personal challenges.

An important turning point in Liana Flores’ career was the announcement of her upcoming album that is dropping this summer. Flores also revealed that not long ago, she was studying zoology but decided to give it up and enter into the music industry, this entry came about as a result of her song’s “rises the moon” success on Tiktok.

When asked about her favourite lyric of all her discography, Liana thought for a minute, and then proceeded to share that she can’t pick one as it feels like it was choosing a favourite child. She then revealed that “Eleanor Rigby” by The Beatles was a song from her childhood that continues to linger in her mind and inspire her when creating music. As a nature lover, Liana was asked if she could describe this new era of music as a plant, she whimsically chose that it would be a potato, symbolising its nutrients and grounding qualities.

This press conference provided a deep dive into Liana’s artistic and naturalistic mind, revealing the thoughtful and organic experiences that can be heard throughout her music. As she prepares to release her brand new album this summer and embark on a short summer tour, fans can look forward to a rich sound woven by a unique talent and vision. Her album is set to release on June 28th.
