Sammy Rae & The Friends Something For Everyone Tour Kicks Off in Pittsburgh
BY SHOLOME
Sammy Rae & The Friends kicked off their Something For Everyone tour on September 30th on Stage AE in Pittsburgh, PA, with opener Victoria Canal. There’s truly something for everyone in the show.
Victoria Canal got the night started. If you haven’t heard of her before, you must get her on your radar. Victoria’s lyrics are some of the most thought-provoking and soulful lyrics I’ve heard recently. The vulnerability that she showcases in her songs resonated deeply with the audience, and there was a deeper level of connection between the artist and the audience that was special to witness in the room. She sang songs off her newest EP, ‘Well Well,’ which included ‘Shape,’ ‘She Walks In’ and ‘Swan Song,’ as well as some of her new singles that were released this year, ‘California Sober’ and ‘June Baby.’
The moment Sammy Rae & The Friends took the stage, the audience was ready for them. They opened the show with banger rock ballot ‘Thieves.’ From that point on, the audience got strapped in for a rollercoaster ride. Hearing song after song and the audience singing every word of this album was so electric. Now don’t worry if you think they don’t sprinkle in some of their other songs into their set; I promise that they do. This album in itself, is beautifully well-done and, just like the album title says there’s ‘Something For Everyone.’ This band is so special in the way that they create a space where everyone can come as their true selves and allow everyone to feel their emotions with each other. Sammy Rae & The Friends are on tour all the way until mid November, you don’t want to miss them!
