Stephen Day AT The Troubadour
BY Genevieve Quinn
Stephen Day serenaded the Troubadour in his debut, sold-out show Thursday night in LA. The night began with the captivating Therese Curatolo, who won the audience over with her talent, humor and charm. Greeted with an enamored and enthusiastic crowd, a vintage tone was set for the night's entertainment.
Known for her work with “Postmodern Jukebox” and “Scary Pockets”, Therese took us back with a beautiful, swing acoustic set in which we laughed and cried to songs from her latest EP, Ode to a Clown.
Stephen was welcomed with the eager audience in the iconic Los Angeles club. Day, a Nashville resident, is bringing back crooning with instrumentals reminiscent of jazz, soul and Motown. His fans echoed his love songs, creating a beautiful choir that demonstrated the intimate relationship of artist and listener. It is evident that this up-and-coming soulful singer has a loyal fan base. His live vocals rivaled his recordings and the pure talent showcased makes it clear that Stephen Day is someone worthy of his growing audience.
