Omar Rudberg - Every Night Fantasy Tour in Antwerp

BY JITTE DAVIDSON

On Wednesday, 12 February, Venezuelan-Swedish singer and actor Omar Rudberg played a phenomenal show in Antwerp.

With no opening act, Omar came on stage after an amazing intro of his band, consisting of drummer Simon Santunione and MD/bassist Isak Nygren, joined by his two dancers, Adnan and Lamin. My first thought after a few songs was, "Wow, how can someone dance and move so much but still hit every note perfectly and not be out of breath?" I was so impressed.

Omar switched between slower and uptempo songs, and both kinds fit his voice very well. The slower songs, like Simon’s Song from the series Young Royals, where Omar was one of the main characters, gave me goosebumps all over. His vocal range is insane. He has such a clear voice in both the highs and the lows. Omar also interacted with the crowd really well, not too much, but not too little, just the perfect amount. With his dancers next to him, all dancing synchronously, he really gave me major pop star vibes.

Personally, when I go to a concert where I don’t know any of the songs, I sometimes find myself getting a little bored by the end of the set. But with Omar's show, it was different. His show is so well put together, this was one of the first shows where I spent the entire night with my mouth wide open because I was just flabbergasted by how talented his is and how incredible this show was. Definitely one of the best shows I’ve ever been to.

In my opinion, Omar is one of the most underrated artists of the moment, and I'm sure he has a bright, bright future ahead of him!
