MAYRA ANDTRADE IN ANTWERP

BY JITTE DAVIDSON

Mayra Andrade is a Cape Verdean singer known for her rich, soulful voice and eclectic musical style, which blends traditional Cape Verdean music with elements of jazz, pop, and Latin sounds. On June 15th, she performed in Antwerp, Belgium. The singer created a homely and intimate concert, even in a large venue like De Roma. The stage was filled with houseplants and a red couch, featuring just her and her guitarist, Jorge Almeida. This setup made the performance feel almost like a living room concert.

From the moment Andrade took the stage, it was clear that this concert was going to be something special. Seated on a couch, she sang beautiful melodies that allowed the audience to relax and dream away. She also played a variety of instruments to accompany her melodies. Her sounds brought us to a peaceful and summery stage. The audience felt a deep connection with Andrade as she sang. The venue felt warm and inviting, almost like a private gathering with friends. Mayra Andrade’s concert in Antwerp was a memorable and healing evening of stunning music and heartfelt performance.

Her ability to create such a cozy and intimate atmosphere left a lasting impression on everyone who attended, making it a night to remember.
