Bass Persuades -Miley’s Newest Album REVIEW

BY AMANI

Miley Cyrus’s new album Bass Persuades was released on September 18th, 2026. It is a collection of her 10 new songs and is her 10th album to date. This album is a dark dance-pop, electro-pop, and soft rock musical album. “Bass Persuades” is the leading single that was released on September 3rd, 2026 and is the most well known song on the album. “Redlights” is the least popular one according to fans via reddit and twitter comments as it also sparks controversy.  Miley’s music has always been experimental and stands out from other artists.

“Bass Persuades” begins with: “Step into the scene, you won't catch an eye/Walk into the party like the party is mine/Paving over pastures 'cause horses are gone/Forgetting there's a world when this record is on/Ghosts went to Bermuda 'cause there's no one to haunt/ Candy's cut with fentanyl that nobody wants/Spin it for a minute, make it all disappear/If we ain't moving, baby, baby, why are we here?” It’s different from Miley’s country albums but fans who like her grittier music will enjoy this.

“Let’s Get Married” is a personal favorite. The lines: “Let's go get married tonight/Let's get married/I'm having visions of white/Let's get married/Let's turn the rest of our lives to a holiday/Anytime, any place, we can run away/Get married tonight (Diamonds dancing on me).” It is similar to some of Miley’s earlier albums in the best way. For people who have been attending multiple weddings this is one to add to the wedding playlists.

Another good song on the album is the song: “Snow.” It is a softer ballad and is more in tune with Miley’s music at the beginning of her singing career. The lyrics are as follows: “It's a cold night, my skin is tight/No stopping as we move in slow/It’s written in your wide eyes, forever skies/Together, we both fall like snow.” Snow is the perfect song to listen to during a commute to work or on a hike.

Overall, Bass Persuades is an intriguing addition to Miley Cyrus’s discography. The album includes several genres while maintaining the bold personality that has defined much of her career. Some songs may appeal more to longtime fans than others, and the controversy surrounding “Redlights” may divide listeners. However, tracks such as “Different Religions” and “Let’s Get Married” demonstrate the album’s range. For fans who enjoy Cyrus’s darker, grittier, and more experimental side, Bass Persuades is worth adding to your Spotify playlists. Although some die hard fans may prefer Miley’s previous albums this one is still worth listening to.
