teenage dads at The Tivoli

BY MACKENZIE TRELOAR

On Friday the 23rd of August, Teenage Dad's released their brand new album, MAJORDOMO, and what better way to celebrate then kicking off their Australia and New Zealand tour on release day! Brisbane was more than welcome to have the band to grace our city once again for the opening night of the tour playing at The Tivoli! To kick off the night two amazing performers, Aleksiah and Phoebe Go, opened the night with their phenomenal music! Then the time came, Teenage Dads were on stage, the crowd went absolutely wild, singing, dancing and screaming to every song on the setlist! Even the songs that were just released that day! The show was an all ages show and there really was a wide range of ages at this show. From children and teens, to middle age and elderly people, and everything in between. Teenage Dads truly is a band for everyone! The band played a heap of new songs from their album including their song, A Day In The Life Of A No Good Pirate, which yes is a fun silly song about being a pirate, they even all had different types of pirate hats for this song and the crowd go so into it about 50 or so people got on the ground and started rowing like they were rowing a boat. They obviously played all the faves including Speedracer, Teddy and Midnight Driving. On their setlist for the first time in a long time was the song Pocket Money which is on of their older songs and everyone LOVED to hear it!

And of course they could not forget to add to the setlist their Triple J Like A Version cover of Video Killed The Radio Star, and that always always ALWAYS gets the crowd going! Overall this night couldn't have been a more successful opening night for the MAJORDOMO tour, every single person in the venue enjoyed every inch of the night! we will gladly welcome Teenage Dads back once again whenever they please.
