Stephen Sanchez takes Brisbane Back in Time

BY Mackenzie Treloar

On Friday the 26th of April Stephen Sanchez graced Brisbane at The Tivoli with his retro aura, angelic voice, and one memorable set. Stephan Sanchez and The Moon Crests gave Brisbane the unforgettable night everyone has been feening for!

As the crowd filled the venue it was so amazing seeing how excited everyone was to experience this show! The crowd was filled with vast age ranges from 18 and all the way up toat least 83 with the group of granny’s I spoke to! These lovely granny’s I had a lovely conversation with told me how excited they were to see Stephen because his songs and his voice reminded them so much of when they were young and the music they grew up listening to!

GRAACE opened the night with a wonderful performance and warmed the crowd up. She really new how to perform for the crowd and had an absolutely beautiful voice. It was definitely a treat for everyone in The Tivoli having GRAACE as the opening act!

Then it was time, Stephen made his way onto the stage and gave the people of Brisbane everything he had. He sung a 15 song set with some slow songs and some up-beat songs including his hit song ‘Until I Found You’ and others like ‘High’, ‘Evangeline’, and ‘Be More’. He even gave the crowd a treat by performing ‘Oh, Pretty Woman’ by Roy Orbison, and you couldn’t not be in absolute awe of this performance!

Stephen Sanchez really knows how to work a crowd, having several interactions with fans, reading signs and even jumping down to the barricade to sing with some of the lucky fans! His onstage presence is absolutely extraordinary and you cannot help yourself but to dance along to his amazing songs. While on stage Stephen has some funny moments to, like dancing with a security guard who was enjoying his set and running around with an Australian flag and an Aussie cork tassel hat.

The 26th of April 2024 is definitely a night the Brisbane concert goers will remember for a lifetime! Thank you Stephen Sanchez and The Moon Crests for giving Brisbane a retroesk night to remember!
