STACEY RYAN AT IRVING PLAZA NYC
BY LIAM GILLIN (HE/HIM)
Stacy Ryan opened up for singer Jake Wesley Rogers to a packed Irving Plaza on April 7 in New York City. Combining elements of pop and jazz music together, Stacey Ryan is one to watch in this day and age. Releasing her EP “I Don’t Know What Love Is” on the same day, audiences got the first live performances of songs such as “Bad for Me” and “Somebody Good.” Along with performing her viral hits from TikTok “Fall in Love Alone” and “Don’t Text Me When You’re Drunk.” The crowd was in absolutely awe of her as they were completely invested in her sound. One of my favorite parts of the night when she covered “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac because of her way to completely transform the classic song to compliment her pop jazz stylings and make it her own. Her performance has to have been one of the best I have seen in 2023 so far. Her voice is incredibly passionate and stands out from so many singers today. Stacey Ryan has a very triumphant career ahead of her and she is one you need to see live.
