Riz La Vie IN SANTA CRUZ
BY Trini Sin (SHE/HER)
Riz La Vie made his way through Santa Cruz on Saturday, March 18th, for his The World Could Be a Haven tour. The New Jersey native put on a spiritually grounding and fun show by playing the latest hits from his album, Haven. The artist included different elements that made for a completely immersive set. With a combination of upbeat and slow-paced songs as well as bright flashing stage lights, the audience was enamored and remained engaged with his melodic singing. Riz performed popular songs such as “FYP” and “Napkins.”
The energy flowed with the music as people waved their arms back and forth, jumped up and down, screamed the song lyrics, and swayed their bodies with the melody. A notable highlight was when the artist took a few deep breaths with the audience as he lit an incense stick. With Riz’s breathing guidance, everyone could ground themselves as he transitioned into singing “Sunlight Interlude.” Riz La Vie curated a unique performance that gave audiences an unforgettable experience. La Vie concludes his debut album tour by playing his last shows in San Diego and Los Angeles.
